Happy Dollars: Anita is happy & thanks Lance for the idea of purchasing the Rotary Tent. This tent has already come in handy for 2 of our events and especially helpful in the cold & rain at Pumpkin Chuckin’ !
Joan is happy that she will attend the Jeff Church Craft Fair on Saturday, October 8 from 9-3.
Kathy is happy to be headed off to Maine this weekend – she has the weekend off !
Anne is happy that she sold her quilt to the Chapel at the hospital & that she will be biking from Tennessee to Missouri soon.
John is happy to be a part of Inherit the Wind and that Rice won with 5 goals against Milton.
Annie is happy that the Christmas Holiday Show is coming up – in its 7th year & will be held on December 1. Donation of Proceeds to be determined.
Vanessa is happy to have seen Inherit the Wind and that the Lamoille Boys are playing Milton at 7pm.
Matt is happy to have participated in Pumpkin Chuckin’ & didn’t get hit by a pumpkin !
Susan is happy that she was able to attend the Harvest Grazing Dinner at the Barn last Friday night and is thrilled with the turn out from Pumpkin Chuckin’ 2011.
Sherrill is happy that Pumpkin Chuckin’ was such a success and that there were so many Rotarians who helped clean & mop the muddy Barn afterwards.
Lauri is happy & excited to be attending the 2012 Rotary International Convention in Thailand with Sherrill & anyone else who would like to join in.
Fines: Chuck fines Nanci for having the flags in the wrong position. Nanci pleads innocent and asks Chuck to please show us all the correct placement. Matt fines Chuck for making us all sing the Canadian anthem when he is housing a Mexican exchange student and doesn’t know their anthem. The fine is tabled for 2 weeks giving Chuck ample time to be taught the Mexican anthem.
Foundation Minute: Rotarians in Texas create a program to coordinate games, stories and help prospective parents comfortable get to know their new adoptive children and foster good relationships throughout the adoption process.
Announcements: At the most recent CAR Executive BOD Meeting, we decided to move the badges downstairs and have a morning greeter. This will be a wonderful way for us all to get to know each other as we gather our badges as well as welcome our members, speakers and other weekly guests before they get lost in the shuffle upstairs. A signup sheet has been started and is as follows:
November – empty
December – Lauri Boyden
January – Vanessa & Anita
February – Mary & Peter
March – Colleen & Matt
Reminders will go out with each meeting minutes – Thanks to all who have volunteered so far ! Please remember that the greeter needs to arrive in time to set out the badges and meet any speakers, greet all Rotarians or guests.
CAR Quarterly dues are due by the end of the month $35 per person
Committee Day Reports:
Fundraising – all Pumpkin Chuckin’ sponsor $ and expenses need to be collected NOW for a full report of Profit & Loss.
Our next event is, yes – next month. The Ski Swap will be held on the weekend of November 18,19,20 to benefit the Winter Wellness Program. The Barn Bash will be held on Friday, November 4 which also promotes the Winter Wellness Program – tie the two events together !

Foundation: is writing an article for the RI Magazine – in the works at this time.
Literacy: Rotary Reads Program is happening now – awesome amount of Rotarians reading !
Service: Need new liner for the skating rink. There is money left over in that budget. Did James ever get paid ? Coordinate a fundraising with the Barn Bash ?
Membership: the recent CAR Social was successful but crowded which is a good problem to have. Looking at a Rotary sign in the window here at 158 for PR. Sam will continue to help with PR & will connect with Mark S. Each CAR member is required to gain 1 new member a year.
Exchange: Mariano Is here and will teach Chuck the Mexican anthem. He is the 1st student to have his full Rotary Exchange binder complete with all 150 documents. Question posed to the group – should we sponsor exchange students through People’s Academy in the absence of the Morrisville club ? Chuck will be retiring from the Exchange Chair as of June. Bruce McMillan has been nominated and voted in as Exchange Chair for 2012.
The raffle winning ticket = No luck drawing the Ace of Hearts today. Pot is at $1731.00
